Nathan stopped.
He read aloud.

Then:
I convinced myself removing Grace protected Nathan from repeating my mistakes.

But at least the dying man partly understood.
Then:
Crane knows more than he should. Eleanor knows enough to be dangerous. Do not let either use bloodline as an excuse for control.
Finally:
A family that has to destroy children to preserve its legacy deserves to lose the legacy.
Nathan folded the paper.
For a long time, neither of us spoke.
