Chapter 4 - JAVIER WAS TRYING TO CREATE A RECORD AGAINST DANTE

Javier’s birthday behavior now made sense.
He was not trying to punch Dante simply from anger.
He wanted video.
Earlier he coached Leo:
Tell everyone your father pushed you.
Then during confrontation he swung.
Why?
If Dante punched back violently in front of guests/children, footage could support “unstable father.”
Dante did not.
He restrained.
That mattered.
Then phone recording.
Proof.
Then more footage from party.
Javier had spent twenty minutes asking guests:
“Dante has been under pressure lately, right?”
“Does he yell at kids?”
Leading.
He was collecting impressions.
Then messages to Rafael:
If Dante loses control at party, we have witnesses.
Rafael:
Do not stage anything obvious.
Javier:
Leo already found key. I can use that.
There.
Then:
Rafael: Get the key. Papers matter more than theatrics.
So Javier escalated on his own.
Again different culpability.
Then assault.
He attempted punch after Dante confronted.
Criminal.
Then financial.
Javier had received approximately $680,000 in advisory fees over four years from trust-related and estate accounts.
Some legitimate work? Maybe.
Audit found roughly $390,000 unsupported/conflicted.
Rafael’s entities received another $1.1 million across family accounts, not all Lily/Mia.
Victor Hale’s law firm around $520,000.
This was meaningful but not fortune.
Then forged documents sought future fees/control.
Then police searched Javier’s office.
Found draft child welfare packet.
Photos of Dante at events holding wine.
Business travel calendar.
One old argument clip.
Not evidence of abuse.
But arranged to look like absentee/volatile father.
Then notes:
If Dante compromised, family protector can petition for independent child representative.
There.
They planned.
Then Dante looked at own life.
He traveled.
A lot.
Camila cared for kids sometimes.
Nanny.
Javier inserted himself.
He had been emergency pickup contact.
That disturbed.
Dante removed.
Then school.
Doctors.
Direct protocols.
No one family adviser controls.
Then Leo asked:
“Is Uncle Javier bad?”
Dante answered:
“He made dangerous and dishonest choices.”
Not total person label.
Then:
“Did he want my key?”
“Yes.”
“Because money?”
“Partly.”
Then:
“Was he going to take mine?”
“He was trying to get control around money that belongs to you and Mia.”
Then:
“Do I get money now?”
“No.”
Leo frowned.
“Good.”
Children.
Then:
“Can I keep key?”
Dante thought.
Evidence needed.
“Not yet.”

Later it would go archive.
No magic talisman.
