Chapter 7 - RICHARD COLE CAME BACKRichard Cole returned to Ohio voluntarily.

Older.

Tired.

Still sharp.

He had lived quietly in Florida after Charles died.

Not abroad.

Another Whitmore myth.

He brought records.

Emails.

Bank statements.

Proof that Charles directed the fraudulent accounting.

Richard had helped hide some of it.

He admitted that.

He also admitted the affair.

Ethan looked like he wanted to hate him completely.

But reality resisted simplicity.

Richard had exposed parts of Charles’s fraud.

Then helped conceal other parts to protect Patricia.

He accepted money.

He lied.

He also prevented Charles from moving even more assets offshore.

Hero?

No.

Villain?

Also not cleanly.

Just another adult making compromised decisions and calling them necessary.

Regulators reopened portions of the historical financial case.

Because Charles was dead, consequences centered on correcting records, recovering improperly diverted assets, and resolving claims.

Patricia returned the remaining reserve funds voluntarily.

She sold the Palm Beach condo.

The $1.2 million she had diverted became part of restitution.

May you like

That mattered.

So did her cooperation.
