The company eventually self-reported.
Paid penalties.

But Michael was furious.

Their relationship fractured.
Then Michael died months later in a car accident.

Police investigation confirmed mechanical failure after a tire blowout.
Charlotte appreciated that.
Not every family secret required murder.
The emotional fallout, however, mattered.
Elise blamed the company for consuming Michael before his death.
She took Charlotte away partly because she wanted no corporate identity shaping her childhood.
That was the truth.
Sebastian had allowed people to interpret Elise’s departure as hostility.
He never corrected the family narrative.
