Chapter 3 - BIANCA CALLED THE LAUNDRY ROOM “THERAPY”

Our attorney obtained the reimbursement packet.

I could barely read.

Behavioral Regulation Program

Goals:

Emotional resilience.

Respectful communication.

Grief adjustment.

Age-appropriate independence.

All good words.

Under them:

Lies.

Marcus’s company billed.

No licensed clinicians employed.

No clinic.

No therapy.

The registered business address was a mailbox.

Then supporting notes signed:

Bianca Moretti Bellandi, Family Care Coordinator

She had no clinical license.

No care credential.

Nothing.

Then Marcus submitted consultant reports.

He described himself as:

Behavioral Program Administrator

His actual background:

Failed events company.

Two years community college.

No child-development training.

The arrogance was breathtaking.

Then trustee.

How did this get approved?

The trustee did not simply hand money.

They requested documentation.

Bianca provided a letter from Dr. Adrian Vale.

Was he involved?

We investigated.

Dr. Vale was Lucy’s grief therapist.

His real letter said:

Lucy may benefit from consistent routines, age-appropriate boundaries, and supportive grief processing.

Bianca altered the PDF.

Added:

Structured behavioral intervention in home is recommended.

Forensics showed text layer edited.

Dr. Vale was furious.

He had never recommended isolation or punishment.

Then signature copied.

Forgery.

Now fraud.

Then my electronic approval.

Bianca sent me an email:

Need authorization to process Lucy support expenses while you travel. Same as tutoring/therapy.

I clicked approve.

No attachment detail.

I was in Milan.

Rushing between meetings.

I trusted wife.

That was my negligence.

Not guilt for abuse.

But financial control failure.

Then trustee approved first three months.

Later asked questions because amounts high.

Marcus responded with attendance logs.

Fake.

Then why continued?

Trustee contacted me directly once.

Email subject:

Lucy Behavioral Services Review

I never saw.

Why?

Bianca had rule in shared email routing trust messages to folder.

Same pattern.

She marked read.

Then responded from household account:

Vittorio approves continuation.

Not my exact identity? Could be generic household. But still deceptive.

Then trustee later required direct confirmation.

Payment stopped after month twelve.

That was only three weeks before I came home.

Bianca panicked.

Why?

Because $8,500/month ended.

Then she intensified pressure on Lucy?

Likely.

She wanted more records showing severe behavior so she could justify renewed services.

That morning dog bowl punishment may have served two purposes:

Control.

And create evidence of “feeding refusal.”

In notebook:

Lucy refuses normal meals / oppositional behavior.

She forced dog bowl, then could claim refusal.

Perverse.

Then Marcus texted:

Need stronger examples if trustee asks why program continues.

Bianca:

She’s getting worse anyway.

He replied:

Document everything.

They were manufacturing the disorder they billed to treat.

That was the darkest part.

Then investigators found draft petition.

Not custody.

A request to appoint independent care manager because Lucy had “persistent behavioral dysfunction.”

Proposed care manager:

Bianca.

Paid from trust.

Annual:

$120,000.

Marcus’s company retained for support.

They wanted recurring access.

This was not steal entire trust.

Protected.

But a fee machine.

Then I remembered Elena.

My late wife had insisted trust remain independent because she worried future caregivers might blur money with love.

At time I thought overly cautious.

Now her caution had protected Lucy.

Trustee stopped payments before principal damage grew.

Then letter from Elena held by trustee.

Released because suspected misuse triggered review.

Vittorio,

If anyone ever tells you Lucy’s inheritance should make caregiving easier for the adults around her, ask whether the arrangement makes Lucy safer or simply makes someone else necessary.

I cried reading.

Then:

No spouse, relative, or future guardian should be paid merely for being family. Professional services should be independently verified.

Bianca had tried to become professional by typing it on invoice.

Then:

Lucy is not a source of employment.

That sentence.

I closed my eyes.

Marcus had turned my daughter’s grief into invoices.

Bianca had turned discipline into a business model.

And I had approved “support expenses” without reading closely enough because I was too busy building an empire everyone praised me for.

The money was recoverable.

Time was not.
