Chapter 9 - NOAH LEARNED WHO HIS MOTHER WAS
Noah was eight when he asked full question.
“Why doesn’t Mom live here?”
Vanessa remained limited part of life through supervised then carefully expanded contact after years of treatment.
Victor never told him:
“Your mother is evil.”
He said:
“She made choices that were unsafe and dishonest.”

“Did she hurt me?”
“She put you in a dangerous situation when you were a baby.”

“Amelia?”

“Why use me?”

“Did you love me?”

“Then why use me?”

“Because adults can love someone and still make terrible choices.”

“That sounds bad.”

Then:
“Do I have to forgive you?”
