Chapter 7 - PATRICIA FINALLY TOLD THE WHOLE STORY

Mediated meeting.

Daniel wanted.

I attended only first part regarding assault, then left before intimate paternity details? Maybe I stayed with permission. Let's keep.

Patricia apologized badly first.

“I’m sorry things got out of hand.”

No.

Daniel stopped.

“Try again.”

She stared.

Then:

“I’m sorry I grabbed Claire’s hair.”

Good.

“I’m sorry I tried to take Noah while she was holding him.”

Good.

“I’m sorry I accused her of infidelity without evidence.”

There.

Then:

“And?”

Patricia cried.

“I’m sorry I made paternity public.”

Better.

Then Daniel:

“Why?”

She said:

“Because I was terrified you would repeat my life.”

Projection.

Her father had abandoned family? Maybe no need.

She cheated.

Lived decades afraid blood truth would surface.

So when Noah looked different, she saw danger.

Then Daniel asked:

“Why did you never tell me?”

“Because Robert told me not to.”

Daniel immediately:

“His letter says you insisted.”

Patricia froze.

Caught.

Then:

“Fine.”

She had insisted.

Robert agreed.

Thomas agreed.

She drove.

Then:

“Why?”

“If you knew Thomas was your father, I thought you’d stop loving Robert.”

Daniel stared.

“You decided that for me.”

“Yes.”

Then:

“And Thomas?”

“I thought you would leave us for him.”

There.

Love as competition.

Then:

“Did Dad forgive you?”

Patricia cried harder.

“Eventually.”

“Did he trust you?”

“Not the same.”

Important.

Then:

“Did he ever threaten divorce?”

“Yes.”

“He stayed because me?”

“Partly.”

That burden.

Daniel said:

“He should not have put that on me.”

Patricia corrected:

“He didn’t. I did.”

Good.

Then:

“Did you love Dad?”

“Yes.”

“Thomas?”

“At one point.”

Then:

“Were there more affairs?”

“No.”

No endless twist.

Then Daniel asked:

“Did you love me?”

Patricia looked shocked.

“Of course.”

“Then why didn’t you trust me with truth?”

She answered:

“Because I wanted to control what your love looked like.”

There.

That was core.

Then Patricia said:

“I thought motherhood meant protecting you from pain.”

Daniel:

“You protected yourself from consequences.”

She nodded.

Finally.

Then my turn.

I said:

“You don’t get access to Noah because you apologized.”

Patricia cried.

“I understand.”

“Do you?”

“Yes.”

Then:

“If he ever has relationship with you, it will be based on safety, not title.”

She nodded.

No hug.

May you like

No immediate reconciliation.

Good.
