Chapter 5 - HELENA STOOD BEFORE THE JUDGE WITHOUT MATTEO

Helena eventually accepted plea agreement.

Not because Matteo demanded.

Evidence.

She pleaded to child endangerment, unlawful confinement-related conduct, attempted fraud/forgery, and falsification tied to guardianship plan.

Exact charges jurisdiction-dependent.

Meaningful custodial sentence plus probation/restitution.

No unsupervised contact with Leo for substantial period.

No fiduciary positions over minors.

Then she spoke.

“I loved Leo.”

Some people in courtroom shifted.

She continued:

“That is not a defense.”

Better.

“I loved him when he was two.”

“I read to him.”

“I stayed up when he was sick.”

“And then I began resenting every time he reminded me I was not his mother.”

Matteo listened.

No triumph.

Then:

“I wanted my own child.”

She cried.

“I started seeing Leo as person standing in front of life I thought I deserved.”

There.

Then:

“Marco told me family authority could be reorganized.”

“He did not tell me to make Leo wash dishes.”

“He did not tell me to take his clothes.”

“I chose those things.”

Important.

Then judge asked:

“Why?”

Helena:

“Because humiliation made him quieter.”

Matteo’s hands clenched.

Then:

“And quiet children were easier to describe.”

There.

Then:

“I told myself discipline would make records believable.”

She admitted.

Then:

“Did you intend to permanently remove him?”

“I wanted him away.”

“How long?”

“I don’t know.”

“Months?”

“Yes.”

“Years?”

“Maybe.”

Court silent.

Then:

“Did you understand he was four?”

“Yes.”

There.

No excuse.

Then Marco’s case.

He fought longer.

His defense:

He was planning lawful guardianship options for client.

But altered medical summary.

Used forged signatures.

Related fees undisclosed.

Messages.

Eventually conviction/plea.

Disbarment or long suspension? Given fraud, disbarred.

Restitution.

No role Bellucci trust.

His firm shut/restructured.

Then Rebecca’s audit.

No trust principal lost.

Some legal fees reimbursed from Marco professional insurance/restitution.

Trust stayed.

Then divorce.

Helena and Matteo had prenup.

She retained lawful separate property, received settlement as appropriate.

Restitution offsets.

No magical homelessness.

No revenge.

Then fertility embryos? Helena had frozen eggs/embryos with Matteo? If without consent not embryo together. She was undergoing own egg preservation perhaps. No child. Avoid further.

Then Leo.

He did not testify in open court.

His recorded forensic interview and adult evidence sufficed.

No child spectacle.

Then Matteo’s victim statement:

“My son’s humiliation was not wrong because he is a Bellucci.”

He looked toward judge.

“It would have been wrong if he inherited nothing.”

Important.

Then:

“I am ashamed the public story keeps calling him heir before calling him child.”

Good.

Then media.

Headlines:

BILLIONAIRE’S HEIR ABUSED IN MANSION.

Matteo’s spokesperson requested privacy.

No photo.

No exploiting.

Then one reporter shouted:

“Mr. Bellucci, was Helena trying to steal fortune?”

Matteo answered once:

“She was trying to gain control and compensation through a fraudulent guardianship structure. My son’s money is not the most important part.”

May you like

Then stopped.

Good.
