Chapter 5 - THE HOUSE THAT HID THE DEADThe Walker mansion looked exactly the same.

Beautiful.

Expensive.

Perfect.

A place that appeared impossible to destroy.

But Ethan knew better.

Some houses were built to hide memories.

This one was built to hide crimes.

When Ethan arrived with Noah, police vehicles surrounded the property.

But nobody had found Claire.

Only one message remained.

Written on the wall.

COME ALONE.

Ethan knew immediately.

Michael wanted him.

Not the police.

Not Noah.

Him.

Inside the mansion, every room contained a memory.

The dining room.

Where Ethan had his first birthday.

The library.

Where Claire read stories.

The office.

Where Michael taught him business.

Now every memory felt poisoned.

Then he heard a voice.

“Your mother always believed she could save everyone.”

Michael stepped out.

Holding a file.

Not a weapon.

A file.

Because Michael’s strongest weapon was always information.

“You ruined everything.”

Ethan stared.

“No.”

He looked around.

“You did.”

Michael smiled.

“You think you know the truth?”

“I know enough.”

Michael shook his head.

“No, you know what people wanted you to know.”

He opened the file.

Inside were documents.

DNA tests.

Medical records.

Ethan’s face changed.

Michael smiled.

“Your mother lied too.”

The document showed something impossible.

Ethan’s DNA.

Compared with Michael’s.

The result:

No biological match.

Ethan stopped.

“No.”

Michael watched him.

May you like

“You were never my son.”

The world went silent.
