Chapter 7 - The Bracelet That Started The WarThe investigation revealed the truth.

Victoria’s missing bracelet had never been stolen.
It was planted.
By her.
To create a scene.
To make me look guilty.
To damage the hotel’s reputation.
Richard needed people to believe the Grand Regent was controlled by someone unqualified.
Someone weak.
Someone easy to remove.
And he chose me.
Because he thought I was still the poor girl in the gray coat.
Victoria was called in for questioning.
At first, she acted confident.
“I was mistaken.”
The investigator looked at her.
“No.”
He placed evidence on the table.
“You were paid.”
Her expression changed.
“By who?”
She said nothing.
But everyone knew.
Richard.
When Daniel, the hotel manager, showed me the security footage…
I watched the moment everything began.
Victoria walking toward me.
The way she looked at my clothes.
The way she decided I was guilty before knowing anything.
And I realized something.
The bracelet was never the real weapon.
Her judgment was.
She believed poor people were automatically criminals.
She believed money made her better.
And that belief destroyed her.
The final confrontation happened in the Grand Regent ballroom.
The same place where Victoria had humiliated me.
The same place where hundreds watched me fall.
But this time…
Everyone was watching her.
Richard stood at the front.
His lawyers beside him.
He still believed he could escape.
“You have no idea what you’re fighting.”
I looked at him.
“No.”
A pause.
“I know exactly what I’m fighting.”
He laughed.
“You think owning a hotel makes you powerful?”
I shook my head.
“No.”
I looked around.
“At one point, I had nothing.”
I looked at Lily.
“My sister had nothing.”
“My mother lost everything.”
“But we still had something you never had.”
Richard frowned.
“What?”
“People who loved us.”
Then the final evidence appeared.
A recording.
My grandfather’s voice.
Everyone became silent.
“My family.”
His voice filled the ballroom.
“If you are hearing this, someone tried to steal what does not belong to them.”
Richard’s face changed.
The recording continued.
“The Grand Regent was never built for greed.”
“It was built to protect people.”
A pause.
“The person who tries to take it for themselves has already lost.”
Richard finally broke.
“You think you’ve won?”
He looked at me.
“You still don’t know everything.”
I stared.
“What else?”
He smiled.
“Ask your mother why she really hid the hotel from you.”
The room went silent.

Because even after everything…
There was still one secret.
