Chapter 13 - I WORE THE GRAY SWEATER AGAINThe gray sweater survived.

Mostly.

The school cleaner offered to throw it away.

I said no.

After several washes, the smell disappeared.

A faint discoloration remained near the shoulder.

I wore it again two weeks later.

Sophie stared.

“You’re insane.”

“Why?”

“That sweater has trauma.”

“It’s cotton.”

She laughed.

People watched me in the hallway.

Some looked impressed.

I hated that too.

I wasn’t reclaiming anything for an audience.

I just liked the sweater.

Eventually, it became ordinary again.

That was the goal.
