Chapter 3 - THE PATERNITY TEST SHE HAD ALREADY ORDEREDMargaret found another document in Trevor’s folder.

A private DNA testing request.
My stomach turned.
“No.”
Vanessa looked down.
She had taken a sample from Noah.
Hair from his brush.
And a sample from me.
From a razor.
Without my knowledge.
The result?
99.9998 percent probability I was Noah’s father.
I stared at her.
“You already knew.”
She started crying.
“Daniel.”
“You already knew he was mine.”
“Yes.”
“Then why keep telling him otherwise?”
She covered her face.
That was when the truth became uglier.
The DNA test had not helped her plan.
So she shifted from facts to psychology.
If she couldn’t prove Noah wasn’t mine, she could make Noah act like he doubted me.
Maybe refuse family events.
Maybe say Rachel told him someone else was his father.
Maybe create enough instability to justify further legal inquiry.

The problem?
May you like
They needed controversy.
So they were manufacturing it inside an eight-year-old child.
