Chapter 13 - The Final Court BattleThe last legal battle came unexpectedly.

A new person appeared.
Someone claiming rights to the family trust.
Someone who believed they deserved everything.
A distant relative.
He claimed the children’s inheritance.
The company.
The property.
Everything.
His argument was simple.
Blood.
That was all he had.
In court, he smiled confidently.
“My family built this.”
The judge looked at me.
“And your response?”
I stood.
“My family did build it.”
A pause.
“But family is not only about blood.”
I looked at Caleb.
At Emma.
“They are my family because I protected them.”
The judge reviewed everything.
The evidence.
The history.
The documents.
Then the decision came.
The trust remained protected.
Not because of wealth.
Because of responsibility.
Outside the courtroom, Caleb asked:
“Did we win?”
I smiled.
“No.”
He looked confused.
“We didn’t win.”

A pause.
“We proved the truth.”
