Chapter 13 - FORGIVENESS

I visited Elizabeth's grave.

I brought flowers.

Daniel stood beside me.

“You don't have to forgive her.”

“I know.”

“Do you?”

I nodded.

“I forgive her.”

He looked surprised.

“Why?”

“Because she was afraid.”

“And Victoria?”

I thought about it.

“I don't know.”

“You don't have to.”

“I know.”

Forgiveness wasn't about pretending nothing happened.

It was about refusing to let the past control my future.

I had spent too long thinking about the night I was thrown into the rain.

Now I thought about something else.

The moment my son was born.

The first time I held him.

The first time Sophia held him.

The first time Lucas called me sister.

The first time Daniel apologized without asking for anything.

Those moments mattered more.
