That was it.
No loss of company.
No removal.
No scandal clause.
Someone had created a fake summary.
Elena had been shown that instead.
The fake version stated:
Any undisclosed heirship claim may trigger forfeiture of Adrian Mercer’s controlling trust interest.
False.
Who prepared it?
Metadata from an old recovered computer pointed to Langford Advisory.
Raymond’s firm.
That became serious.
He claimed a junior associate drafted it as a hypothetical.
Then why had Elena received it?
No answer.
Then an old email surfaced.
Raymond to Victoria:
If Bennett believes a child claim threatens Adrian, she will leave voluntarily. Cleaner for everyone.
Adrian stared.
There it was.
Not murder.
Not kidnapping.
Manipulation.
They wanted Elena gone before she announced the pregnancy.
Why?

A new heir could delay closing.
