He smiled.

Margaret immediately blamed an assistant.
Daniel’s attorney had the document examined.
Forgery.
That brought police into the matter.
Then came the stolen trust funds.
Then Jonathan’s inheritance.
The case expanded quickly.
Margaret’s polished social image began collapsing.
Friends stopped defending her.
Charities removed her from boards.
The woman who loved status was losing it publicly.
But Daniel did not celebrate.
