Chapter 12 - RICHARD PRESCOTT LOST HIS SEATRichard sat on Westbridge’s governing board.

He had for six years.

That ended.

The board voted to remove him under its conflict and conduct provisions.

He threatened litigation.

Then backed down after his attorneys reviewed the emails.

He remained wealthy.

His company remained successful.

His daughter remained his daughter.

This was not a fantasy where one scandal erased an entire family fortune.

But he lost institutional influence.

That mattered.

The staircase kept the Prescott name initially.

Grace did not care.

Some parents demanded it be removed.

She said:

“It’s stairs.”

I laughed when I heard.

Eventually, the board renamed several donor spaces under a new policy separating major gifts from governance privileges.

The staircase became simply:

North Hall Staircase.

Grace said:

May you like

“Still stairs.”

Exactly.
