Chapter 13 - GABRIEL DIDN’T WANT THE COMPANYThe Harrington attorneys prepared for war.

Gabriel surprised everyone.
“I don’t want your company.”
The room went silent.
A lawyer said:
“You may have claims.”
“To what?”
“Certain family assets.”
Gabriel laughed.
“I own a construction company.”
Smaller.
Ordinary.
His.
He wanted information.
His birth records.
Letters from Elena.
Photographs.
Medical history.
He wanted to know why his mother spent years believing she lost a child.
He wanted the truth more than shares.
Later, he told Ethan:
“If I take money, everyone will think that’s why I came.”
Ethan answered:
“You can still take what’s legally yours if you want.”
Gabriel shook his head.
“Maybe someday we figure out what’s fair.”
Then:
“Today I want my mother’s letters.”
That was the first thing Margaret owed him.
