At the same time Margaret was pregnant with Gabriel.
Both women delivered sons at the same hospital on the same day.
Then the babies were switched.
So Ethan had been raised by his biological father and the wrong mother.
Gabriel had been raised by his biological father’s affair partner—who was actually Ethan’s biological mother.
The room went completely silent when we understood it.
Richard had been having an affair with Elena.
Margaret had known.
Maybe not before the births.
Certainly afterward.
Now her hatred of DNA made sense.
It exposed not merely a hospital error.
