Chapter 8 - DR. VALE HAD DONE THIS BEFOREThe investigation into Vale expanded.

A former employee came forward.

She said he had previously crossed lines in contentious custody cases.

Not necessarily fabricating abuse himself.

But allowing one parent to dominate sessions.

Writing conclusions beyond what children actually reported.

Using therapeutic language to reinforce litigation narratives.

Complaints had been filed.

Nothing serious happened.

Why?

Because family court cases are messy.

Parents accuse each other constantly.

Vale always had plausible language.

“Clinical impressions.”

“Parental reports.”

“Child affect.”

Enough ambiguity to survive.

This time, we had video.

Vale saying:

“She has to tell the same story every time.”

No clinical interpretation could rescue that sentence.

His license came under review.

His professional reputation collapsed slowly.

Appropriately.

Not because I destroyed him.

Because evidence finally reached people responsible for oversight.
