Chapter 9 - I HAD TO EXPLAIN MY SLAPMy own action mattered too.

I had slapped Melissa.

Once.

In front of Lucy.

There was video.

I could have said:

“Look what she did first.”

No.

That is how cycles continue.

I addressed it in court.

Therapy.

With Lucy.

With Melissa.

“I was wrong.”

No qualification.

My attorney warned:

“Opposing counsel may use this.”

“They should.”

He stared.

“I’m not saying it proves the story Melissa manufactured.”

It didn’t.

“But I am not going to teach my daughter that hitting becomes okay if you’re angry enough.”

That decision mattered later.

The court saw the distinction.

One impulsive act acknowledged immediately was not proof of months of fabricated claims.

Otherwise everything I said about truth was meaningless.
