Lucas paused.

That line explained the trust better than any lawyer.

Richard had not chosen Emma because she was magically wiser at six.

He chose a structure around her because adult greed needed distance.

Then:

Do not teach her that wealth makes her important. Teach her that having more means she must be more careful about what power does to people.

Lucas folded the letter.

“I wish he said that while alive.”

“Me too.”
